This 2015 Halloween Season, House of Torment is ready to entertain new and returning visitors alike with updated special effects, horrifying scenes, and a completely renovated layout for a thrilling new haunted house experience. Dead End District: A town overrun by chaos and destruction, Dead End District is now at war against the dead—thanks to wayward scientist Dr. Ectobus’ and Marax’s opening of a horrific rift causing “deadites” to infiltrate the area. Once in, visitors may not get out alive as they become one of the marauders fighting for survival inside the Dead End District.

Hex of the Harvest: A cursed island, filled with pumpkins and lush vines in the deep darkness of the sea, is home to a coven of witches who’ve spent millennia casting spells and creating nightmares to dispatch on their enemies. Now, the coven must bring forth an Ancient of lore–the Ancient of the Harvest–to combine their powers of evil and collect the terrors and tears of their victims. Can you make your way through without getting cursed with the Hex of the Harvest?

Laughterhouse: There’s nothing funny about this clown house. A roaming troupe of chainsaw-wielding clowns has taken over the fallen Blackthorne District’s Slaughterhouse, dubbing it the Laughterhouse. Here, clowns are strengthened by the screams and fears of all those who enter. Think you can survive going through the deranged clowns new stomping grounds?

Created by nationally recognized and award winning haunted house designers, the 13th Floor will transport you to new levels of horror. Prepare to be terrified by 2 epic haunted attraction walkthroughs for one all inclusive price: “Feral Moon” and “Patient Alpha.” The 13th Floor is an intense, graphic, theatrical show that will take you on a gut wrenching ride of visceral thrills and psychological horror. 60,000 square feet of shocking twists and horrifying turns are waiting for you at 13th Floor Haunted House!

Opening its doors to the public for the first time during the traditional Halloween Season in 2013, the goal of Dark Hour Haunted House is a simple one:  produce the highest quality haunt experience available.  Utilizing sets worthy of a Broadway production, professional actors, as well as strategic use of technology produces a top notch theatrical experience in terror for Dark Hour visitors.  Dedicated to reaching as great of an audience as possible, new themed shows are produced monthly which build on the existing theme, but allow for greater exploration of fear.

Carefully crafted in 47,000 square feet which once housed a major sporting goods retailer, Dark Hour provides over 30,000 sq feet of terror to be explored by willing guests. While the visit begins with a stop at the ticket booth, the real experience begins when you step into the cemetery at Coven Manor; attention to detail on each and every grave stone creates the illusion of leaving Plano, Texas and stepping into another place and time.  From there, the painstakingly constructed exterior of the Manor beckons the visitor onward to the unknown horror which lies within.  It is difficult not to be overwhelmed by the decaying detail found inside.

The sets alone are enough to cause a heart to race, but it is the addition of live actors and the characters they create which breathes life into this den of death.   Standards require that actors participate in a minimum of three days training before being allowed to participate in any of the shows.  Many of the show’s core characters have been professional haunt actors for decades.  In addition to fully functional wardrobe and make up areas with highly trained professionals in each of their fields, masks & prosthetics which enhance the actor’s character interpretation are fashioned on-site.

While Dark Hour includes the implementation of animatronics from the industry’s leading manufacturers, the technological aspect of the show is much more than that.  The lighting effects for the show are run on a system usually reserved for concerts & theatrical events.  A centrally located console, linked via DMX, controls color changing LEDs instantly altering the look & feel of the show with minimal manual manipulation, allowing for changes during the show without the guest even being aware.  Motion sensors are used selectively which provide surprises at optimal moments.   The audio experience is controlled by Q-SYS by QSC usually found in stadiums, convention halls, theatrical venues, and major theme parks such as Universal Studios Hollywood, and Knott’s Berry Farm.  WAV files delivered by QSC full range speakers produce optimal clarity of sound.

While visitors returning each month can expect to recognize some aspects of the previous experience, great care is given to crafting the individuality of each monthly themed show.  Changes in scenes, characters and technological effects maintain the integrity of the overarching goal to provide the best haunt experience to all guests.   A dedicated staff has worked thousands of hours in many departments to provide distinct areas filled with fright for the visitor.  Each not so simple scare builds upon the last in telling the story of Coven Manor and the horrifying things that happen there.

The Shallow Grave is a highly detailed spine tingling scarefest that brings the Central Florida area something they have been missing. An intimate in your face, fear filled environment with custom themes and movie quality sets to put you in the midst of terror unlike anything you have experienced before. Once you have dared to put your foot into “The Shallow Grave” you will be begging for more while you are dying to get out.

ADHD (Attention Deficit Haunt Disorder)
Lose yourself in the tormented minds of the few that faced Thaddeus and were fortunate enough to evade certain death from the blood thirsty Van Buren family. But are they truly free from Thaddeus and the agony he bestows upon his victims? The dread, the pain and suffering, escaping to live another day also gives way to the opportunity to die a little each day as your sanity rots from the dark encounter with the very man that feels his survival is directly attached to your demise. Suffer through the very same nightmares that the so called lucky few pray for the sandman to keep at bay for there is no true escape from Thaddeus, once he is in your life he is there until he can steal it from you.

Sometime shortly after the great depression when death was a daily routine things were good for old Thaddeus Van Buren, who was the caretaker at Hills of Arietta Cemetery. Thaddeus, loving husband, father of two lovely girls just worked tirelessly to take care of his family. As depressing as it was he loved his job, treating every corpse that he would eventually lay to rest, as one of his own. But Thaddeus, even with all of the business could not out run the tentacles of the hard times that were rampant for everyone during that time. Desperate times….well they call for desperate measures and for Thaddeus there was no exception. Soon families were unable to pay for the services….yet the dead kept coming. Poor Thaddeus knew not what to do, feeling a sense of responsibility to the families he promised to “care” for the fallen souls as he had always done before. But now his family suffers, hungry and scared he became bitter and angry. Thaddeus started to blame the community for his hardships, the look in his little girls hungry eyes nearly drove him mad, til one day Thaddeus came up with an idea. Thaddeus felt that if the families can’t pay for his services with cash then they will pay with their flesh. Thaddeus turned from “Caretaker” to “Butcher” in order to keep his family fed, With this; all of Thaddeus’ problems seemed to go away, no one was the wiser. Thaddeus would load the coffins with bricks so he could load his belly with the victims. Oh sure the families were in the dark over just how their loved ones were being “cared” for, but the souls of the fallen…..they knew all too well what Thaddeus was up to. Before long the rage of the dead was overwhelming and they vowed revenge against Thaddeus and his family for their cannibalistic ways. The dead that were lucky enough to rest in peace refused to do so, and broke free from there eternal slumber to exact their revenge. With hard times receding and things returning to normal, less plague, less famine, things were tough again for old Thaddeus. By this time his thirst for flesh has driven the old man insane, with fewer dead to chop up and devour he turned to the living to feed his lust for flesh. Thaddeus is hunted by the hordes of the undead relentlessly but to date the old man has been able to hold his own against the rotting minions. Sure he has some scars to show for his efforts, but nothing like the scars he has on his sanity. Stay clear of the old house next to the cemetery if you wish to “rest in peace” and not pieces for Thaddeus will not rest until you do!

Be warned, this is not your standard (boo) haunted house. This is an audience participation event in which (YOU) will live your own Horror Movie. This is a rough, intense and truly frightening experience. You must be in GREAT HEALTH to participate . Last year’s haunt was absolutely nothing compared to the new MCKAMEY MANOR.

Currently this is a (VIP), RESERVATION only event, and is for adults only. A VERY limited amount of people will be able to attend on any given day/night. One – Two tours will receive a special (Two to Four hour), personalized haunt experience. Only TWO GUESTS will attend per tour.

Do not wear expensive clothing. Do not bring anything that cannot get wet. This is a very aggressive experience, and our creatures will come in contact with you. You CANNOT in any way return the contact. If anyone becomes rowdy (pushing, shoving, running), they will immediately be removed – no questions asked. There is no smoking or drinking (alcohol), allowed on the premises. Anyone that has been drinking alcohol will not be allowed into the haunt and will be asked to leave the property…without a refund.

At check-in you will be required to show I.D. and sign a waiver. The Manor is open on the weekends year round. DO NOT just show up…RESERVATIONS are REQUIRED.

Think about the average 10-20 minute haunt, or a theme park at Halloween and what you’ve experienced. Was it really Interactive and Scary? At the new MCKAMEY MANOR, you will experience thrills that you “HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE”. It will test you to your very core. A truly unique and terrifying journey that can last up to (FOUR HOURS), not 10-20 minutes. If things become too much, you can always quit…if we let you.
